KKR vs RR, IPL 2023 Highlights: Yashasvi Jaiswal hurricane leads Rajasthan to 9-wicket win

Venkatesh Iyer tried his best to get KKR somewhere near 160 but it was not to be. RR were just too good with the ball and in the field, now let's see if they can be just as clinical with the bat.

Just eight runs in that over. RR have been truly sensational in this innings, their bowlers have been on point and their fielders have hardly let anything go.

It had been a brilliant over thus far from Sandeep for the 18th. Then Rinku smacks him down the ground for his first six of the day. It can still be a good over from Sandeep after this though, KKR are 137/6 in 17.5, which is surely where they did not want to be at this point.

Big appeal for LBW from Chahal, umpire turns it down and Chahal shows the T himself. He forgets that he is not captain, Samson is and the latter takes the review looking at his senior bowler. As it turns out, Thakur was as plump as they come and Chahal now has the Purple Cap as well.

And it is Chahal again who makes the difference. He goes wide, Iyer chases and ends up skying it. Boult takes the catch at cover.

Venkatesh thumps the third ball of the 16th from Asif over Root's head at long-on for another maximum. First boundary for KKR in 12 balls.

A single gets him to the mark in 39 balls. Not the fastest of fifties but how necessary has this been for KKR.

Venkatesh on strike and he is on 49 off 38, Rinku Singh at the other end on four off five. Just six runs off the 15th over that was bowled by Ashwin so good comeback from him after being belted for 18th in the one he bowled before that.

This partnership is starting to go places. KM Asif bowling 14th, his second of the day, goes too full and Russell pummels him back down the ground for his first six of the match.

KKR get close to 100. What a recovery this has been and it has largely been powered by Iyer. Inside out over cover, bottom hand comes off and the ball races to the boundary.

Total disrespect for the record Chahal just broke here from Iyer. He pulls the shortish delivery past deep square leg.

Chahal returns for the 13th and Iyer smacks him miles back above his head downtown. England boys Jos Buttler and Joe Root left looking at each other with wry smiles as they saw that soar away.

It was just starting to look like Iyer and Rana had found a way to get going when Chahal came in and broke an all-time record to end that stand. Now it is Andre Russell out there with nine overs to play with Iyer at the other end. Will be interesting to see just how Russell will approach this situation.

Yuzvendra Chahal has gone past Dwayne Bravo as the highest wicket taker in the history of the IPL. It comes thanks to another brilliant catch from Bravo's former West Indies teammate Shimron Hetmyer. Rana sweeps Chahal flat in the air, Hetmyer seems to spot it late but recovers, runs in from deep backward square leg and dives forward to complete the catch. That is Chahal's 184th IPL wicket, he was tied on 183 with Bravo.

Rana slaps the last ball of that over wide of long-off. KKR are now 76/2 in 10 overs. Rana on 22 off 16, Iyer on 23 off 24.

Iyer comes down the track for the third ball, smacks it down the ground for a biggie. How KKR needed these.

He was on 11 off 21 and needed to connect and he does. Second ball of the 10th, Ashwin bowling and it is at length outside off, Venkatesh smashes it past deep mid flat and hard and it thumps into the advertisement hoardings before coming quite a few metres back into the field.

It has come only off Rana's gloves but KKR will take anything at this point. Second ball of the ninth bowled by Root, Rana tries to sweep the length ball coming into the pads. It goes between keeper and short fine leg.

It has been 27 balls since the last boundary. Ashwin bowled the eighth and gave just six runs away.

Joe Root, among the greatest batters of this generation and among the greatest English batters of all time, bowls for the first time in this tournament before he will bat. He comes in for the seventh over. Venkatesh is 2 off 12, Nitish Rana is on 6 off 4.

Gurbaz tries to send this full delivery from Boult past mid-off. Sandeep Sharma is in that position it is flying towards his right and the pacer puts in a dive and completes the catch. Gurbaz left holding his bat above his head.
