Kotla chaos: Officials, cops, fans queer pitch

Scores managed to invade the Kotla during the post-match ceremony, making it a security risk for players, reports AR Hemant.

They were not match officials, neither were they part of the TV crew. And they were certainly not a part of the squads. But still, scores managed to invade the Kotla during the post-match ceremony, making it a security risk for players. Those present on the ground were supposed to be from the DDCA, but to the surprise of this reporter, six-year-old Anju was not a cricket administrator!

There were numerous such cases. Amit came to watch the game, but had managed to find his way to the turf. Security personnel didn't stop a young woman as she went up to Malik for an autograph. During the game, a fan ran on to the pitch to shake hands with the players.

This blatant breach of security came on the same day that cops came up with silly reasons to prevent genuine reporters from accessing the press box!

Akhtar and Afridi could give any Indian cricketer a run for their money in the popularity charts. Every time either touched the ball, or, in Afridi's case, come out of the dressing room, the Kotla crowd went berserk.
