Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen revealed middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav is unlikely to feature in the rest of the tournament after suffering a shoulder injury during the team’s clash against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on Sunday.

During the 14th over of the KXIP chase, Jadhav dove full length to his left to stop the ball going past the boundary ropes but injured his shoulder in the process. Jadhav was pictured grimacing in pain and walked out of the field holding his shoulder.
During the post-match press-conference, coach Fleming revealed that Jadhav’s IPL 2019 season is all but over.
“He’s getting an x-ray and a scan tomorrow (Monday), so we’re hopeful for him. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this tournament for us,” Fleming said.
“His attention is turned to the World Cup. He’s in some discomfort but we need to be accurate with our assessment tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it is nothing too serious but it didn’t look that good,” he added.
Not just CSK but the Indian cricket team will be eagerly waiting for Jadhav’s medical report as he was part of the 15-member squad to take part in the ICC World Cup 2019, later this month.
