The left-hander, however, can take a lot of heart from the way he’s been contributing to the team’s cause. He may not be taking apart attacks like Sehwag, but, importantly, he’s doing the job with his own method.

And it’s not just about the runs he’s scored. He’s also setting the tone for the innings in the way he shapes up at the crease.
It’s important to send right signals to the dressing room, and the assurednesses with which he took on England attack at Lord’s and gave confidence to the following batsmen have won him rave reviews from experts.

“A pat on the back from someone like Sachin (Tendulkar) can do a lot of good to anyone’s confidence,” said Abhinav who scored 49 in the first innings of the first Test.

The 21-year-old said India were confident of putting up a strong fight after the loss in the opening Test.

“Obviously we are all disappointed. But there are a lot of good things we can take from the last game. It’s a four-match series and we don’t want look back. We just want to take the positives and move onto the next game.”

“We have come here to take up the challenge and we’ll definitely give it a good fight.”

Tremlett has hamstring strain
