This is because their all-expense paid trip to the West Indies now stands cancelled.

The BCCI had planned a 12-day tour for the 30 members between April 10 and 21. The contingent was to leave by a special Air India flight to Barbados.

The 30 members were to cheer India for three of their Super Eight matches. However, since the Indian team has failed to clear the group stage, the tour has been scrapped.

“The Working Committee had cleared the proposal assuming India qualified for the Super Eights,” BCCI CEO Ratnakar Shetty told HT on Saturday. “With India almost out of the competition, the trip will be cancelled.
