Another power-packed performance with the bat saw Air India Blue set up a title clash with Air India Red in the final of the BCCI Corporate Cup at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on September 8.
Chasing a formidable target of 267, Air India trotted home with five wickets to spare. The match was reduced to 45 overs with a revised target of 246 given to Air India Blue after a power glitch held up the match for 25 minutes.
Madan, who scored 74 against Indian Revenue, picked up from where he left off. He was in ominous touch clobbering the bowlers to all parts of the ground. He fell for a well-made 114 off 129 balls, with 13 boundaries and one six.
Mohammad Kaif also had a good outing, sharing a 142-run stand for the second wicket with Madan. He scored a fluent 56 off 57 balls.
After Kaif and Madan fell, however, Air India lost few quick wickets. But, it was a little too late for Tata to stage a fightback.
MS Dhoni holed out to Jogelkar at third man while trying to hit Malvi out of the ground. Sachin Rana and Ratinder Sodhi remained unbeaten on 14 and one, respectively.

Their innings stuttered initially before the task of rebuilding the innings fell on Ishank Jaggi and Nishit Shetty. The duo played cautiously raising 80 runs for the third wicket. Jaggi was the aggressive of the two raising 52 runs from 59 balls while Nishit contributed with patient knock of 63 from 89 balls.
Agarkar and Wilkin Mota then shared a 68-run stand for the seventh wicket as the Tata innings finally started gaining some momentum. Agarkar smashed 56 of 35 balls, while Mota played the perfect foil scoring 17 runs.
