Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) president, Anurag Thakur, who is a BJP MP from Hamirpur, has sent out invites to top leaders of the party, including president, Nitin Gadkari, leader of opposition, Sushma Swaraj, and the party’s leader in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, and Gujarat chief minister, Narendra Modi.

Thakur said that of the invitees, few were likely to attend. “Though many prominent leaders figure in the list of invitees, many may not be able to come as Parliament is in session.”

The HPCA has also sent out invitations to Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Anand Sharma, and Union Steel Minister, Virbhadra Singh.

With all major hotels in the town being booked by the HPCA and Kings XI Punjab, the administration is finding it difficult to arrange for well-furnished rooms for the VIP guests.
