"Injury is part of a sportsperson's life. I am pretty sure of a quick recovery," Kumar told HT on phone soon after hearing the news of his selection for the World Cup.

"It's a big moment of my cricketing career and I will try to cash in on it," he said. He credited his wife Sapna Singh for his recent success. "Since she came in to my life, I am blessed with success. She is lucky for me," said the lanky seamer, who got married last November.

The 24 -year-old player, who has 57 wickets in 48 ODIs, admitted that injuries were a cause of concern but he was not letting them affect him as they were minor ones.

"Sometimes you can't get away with injuries. But, I'm thankful that injuries weren't serious and couldn't keep me out of the game for long," said Kumar, whose strength is the ability to swing the ball both ways.
