Former honorary secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Niranjan Shah of the Saurashtra Cricket Association, has been added as an invitee to the Special Committee.

This Committee was constituted by the BCCI at their Special General Meeting with regards to the implementation of the administrative reforms ordered by the Supreme Court on July 16, 2016.
The eight-member committee, headed by Rajeev Shukla, will identify critical points in implementation of the Justice RM Lodha committee recommendations.

The first meeting of the committee will be held at New Delhi on July 1, 2017 with the SC hearing on the matter fixed on July 14.
If the recommendations are adopted, Niranjan Shah will not be eligible to be an office-bearer being above 70 years of age and having served a maximum term of nine years.
