MOHNISH PARMAR will have to wait before preparing for a trip to South Africa. The Gujarat off-spinner figures in the Kolkata Knight Riders roster for the Indian Premier league II beginning in Cape Town on April 18, but can’t board the flight because of a suspect action.
Parmar is under scrutiny and, according to sources at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, can’t take part in tournaments conducted by the BCCI until being cleared. He was still named in the list of 28 released by the Knight Riders on March 22, but sources in the team confirmed on Monday that Parmar won’t travel, as of now.
“Parmar isn’t leaving for South Africa with the rest of the squad because there is a question mark over his bowling action. He is yet to be cleared by the BCCI and as a consequence, we are keeping him out of our scheme of things for the moment,” said a team official on condition of anonymity. Parmar was among the ones training at Eden Gardens for the last few days.
The Knight Riders will hold their final selection camp in Bloemfontein and the first set of players will leave for Johannesburg via Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday. The second batch will leave later this week. The foreign players are expected to join the side in South Africa depending on availability considering national commitments.

{{/usCountry}}The team official, however, said this doesn’t mean the end of the road for Parmar as far as the KKR are concerned. “At some point in time, there will a ruling on his action. If he’s cleared, he might well be in the next available flight to SA. We are’nt saying he doesn’t figure in plans, but we are’nt considering him at the moment.”
