Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ejaz Butt has said he was not impressed with the team's performance over the last year, while former players have called for Australian Lawson to step down.

Lawson was appointed Pakistan coach last year after the death of Bob Woolmer during the World Cup and his two-year contract expires in July 2009.

"I have not thought about quitting," Lawson told Geo News in Toronto, where Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka in the final of a four-nation Twenty20 event.

"I am satisfied with the way the team is responding. I am interested in working with Pakistan till the next World Cup."

The former test pacer said he was not aware of the criticism in Pakistan and that he would be speaking to the PCB chairman about extending his contract.

"I don't know what anyone is saying or what is being written in the media. But when I get to Pakistan I will have a frank discussion with the chairman," he added.
