Pakistan moved close to taking a 1-0 lead in the series against New Zealand on Sunday. The hosts bundled out the visitors to 249 in the second innings thanks to five-wicket hauls by Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah. The Kiwis looked set to give Pakistan a big target when they were 220-4 at one stage but then lost their last six wickets for just 29 runs and in the space of 66 balls. BJ Watling and Henry Nicholls struck gritty half centuries for New Zealand. Chasing 176 to win Pakistan were 37/0 at the close of play on Day 3.
