Oliver George Robinson is an English wicketkeeper-batter known for his sharp glovework and aggressive strokeplay across formats. He came through the Kent Cricket Academy system, where he twice earned the John Aitken Grey Trophy as the academy scholar of the year (2016 and 2017) before signing his first professional contract and representing England at the Under-19 level.
Robinson made his senior List A debut for Kent in 2017 in the West Indies Regional Super50, followed by his First-Class debut in 2018. He quickly earned a reputation as a high-tempo middle-order player and recorded a career-best First-Class score of 171 for Durham, alongside a historic unbeaten 206 for Kent in List A cricket.
Seeking guaranteed regular keeping opportunities across all formats, he moved to Durham on loan in 2022 before completing a permanent transfer ahead of the 2023 season. At Durham, his explosive batting and clean glovework cemented his place as their primary keeper-batter, earning him a contract extension through the 2027 season.
Throughout the 2025 and 2026 domestic seasons, Robinson remained a core pillar for Durham across the County Championship, One-Day Cup, and T20 Blast formats. His consistent multi-format contributions and reliability behind the stumps continued to keep him firmly in the conversation for higher honors.
Beyond county cricket, Robinson's high scoring rate in white-ball cricket opened doors in short-format franchise leagues. In England's 100-ball tournament, The Hundred, he was drafted by the Northern Superchargers. His franchise footprint expanded overseas when he was picked up by the Gulf Giants in the ILT20. Additionally, his multi-format consistency and glovework have sustained his involvement with the England Lions and peripheral national setups.
