The toss, scheduled for 0930 GMT, was unable to take place with heavy rain present and covers all over the Chester-le-Street pitch. Rain is forecast throughout the day.

England won the series with victory at Old Trafford on Monday giving them an unassailable 2-0 lead. The first Test at Lord's was drawn.
