The home teams of all these three players have qualified, too, for the Champions League, and the RCB had to fork out $200, 000 (Rs 92.94 lakh) to the home teams of each of these players to retain them for the Champions League.

RCB coach Ray Jennings is understandably delighted with the result. "It's obviously great to have these players in the side. Kallis is great player to have in the side, and he brings even greater value in home conditions with his experience and knowledge," said Jennings. “As for Taylor, we all know how dangerous he could be if he gets going." Even as Jennings said that in Johannesburg, Taylor was setting Dambulla alight.

And if that's not enough to show the intent and purpose with which the RCB are approaching the Champions League, here's more. The team is arriving in South Africa at least ten days in advance, and will be at a high performance centre in Pretoria - the same place where Diego Maradona's Argentina trained during the football World Cup."It's a nice place and I am sure the team will benefit a lot by training there ahead of the tournament," said Jennings.
