Regulations for next IPL to be discussed

A series of sting operations carried out in the last six months, indicting a few local players in the IPL, seems to have forced the BCCI to bring in more stringent rules and regulations that would not only protect the players and officials from falling prey to the trap but also help in keeping the image of the league intact.

In its meeting on Wednesday, the IPL governing council is set to discuss the players' regulation for the next edition of the annual event, apart from issues related to the Deccan Chargers.

T Sudhindra, Abhinav Bali, Mohnish Mishra. Shalabh Srivastava and Amit Yadav were caught on the wrong side of the fence earlier this year. The BCCI soon set up an inquiry committee headed by Ravi Sawani to probe the allegations. Its disciplinary committee, headed by president N Srinivasan, then handed out bans, including a life ban to Sudhindra, in July.

Shifting of venue
The Mumbai Cricket Association office-bearers will meet BCCI president, N Srinivasan, on Wednesday to convince him about the merits of shifting England's second practice match from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to the DY Patil Stadium, Nerul.
