The controversy over the 'Super Hospitality Box' of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens appears to be over as the state fire services department has termed it fit today, three days before the city's IPL team take the field on April one.
"The Super Hospitality Box is OK now. It has been renovated as per specifications suggested by us," said Deputy Director, Fire Services, Dipak Sarkar after an inspection.
The department would give its 'no objection certificate' to the authorities tomorrow, he said.
The state public works department has already given their 'no objection certificate' in this regard.
The KKR will play their next three home matches at the Eden Gardens against Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils on April 1, 4 and 7 respectively.
The final clearance would be given after a meeting called by the chief secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty with officials of all parties concerned -- KKR, IPL, CAB, Kolkata Police, fire services, PWD and sports departments tomorrow.
