Sachin Tendulkar's coach Ramakant Achrekar was on Sunday felicitated with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' by the Shivaji Park Gymkhana here.
The Dronacharya awardee, whose disciples include the likes of former India players Vinod Kambli and Praveen Amre, was felicitated on the occasion of the club's centenary year celebrations.
Other cricketers, who were felicitated on the occasion included Ajit Wadekar, Sandeep Patil, Amre, Ramesh Powar, Padmakar Shivalkar, though the first four were unable to make it due to various reasons.
Senior journalist G K Menon and Billiards player Subhash Aggarwal were also honoured on the occasion.
Shivaji Park is known as the nursery of Indian cricket, as many of the country's cricket including Tendulkar, Wadekar,
and Patil honed their skills at the ground.
