Sehwag hits the nets, Yuvi rests

It’s getting really warm here with the temperature touching 37 degrees Celsius on Tuesday afternoon. The Indians looked determined to get used to that as well as the heat a World Cup quarter-final can generate.

They were engaged in a training session that lasted for close to three hours after they hit the ground soon after 11 am.

They started with a customary round of football with Virender Sehwag staying away from it. Recovering from an allergic reaction around his right knee which forced him out of Sunday's win over the West Indies in Chennai, the opener looked okay when he batted at the nets.

The explosive opener, who was nursing a dodgy shoulder coming into the World Cup and even made a dash to Germany to consult an expert, was left hobbled when he chopped a delivery onto his knee during his brilliant 175 in the opening game against Bangladesh.

The hero of Sunday's victory, Yuvraj Singh, wasn't around, neither was S. Sreesanth. Yuvraj had looked in discomfort during his century against the West Indies in Chennai on Sunday due to the sapping heat and humidity.

Why did the fast bowler need rest after playing just one match — the opening game against Bangladesh on Feb. 19 — was the question doing the rounds, but there was no answer.

The Australians came for practice at 2 pm and they too had an intense session under the scorching sun.
