Naghmi told the "Daily Express" he planned to communicate his decision not to work any longer in the board tomorrow to the government as he is a serving civil servant.

"I have no desire to work in the board anymore. But I will not resign as I am a government servant and was brought into the board on deputation," he said.

"I will inform the federal government of my decision and it is up to them to decide where they want to depute me now," said Naghmi, who is a grade-21 civil servant.

Since Butt took charge, Naghmi has come under fire with a senior official insisting he could not leave the board until an inquiry was completed into his performance in the last two years.
