Speaking on the sidelines of the association’s annual general body meeting, Pawar said, “I don’t have time to go to the BCCI. I might go for meetings but I don’t have time to take up any responsibility.”

Pawar’s previous tenure as MCA president had seen many infrastructural developments; he said the plan was now to work on those. “When I was president of MCA for 10 years, MCA had an old Wankhede Stadium and nothing else.

In the 10 years, we made a lot of changes at Wankhede, to get the BCCI office shifted, we made the Cricket Centre office, so both the MCA and BCCI offices are here now. We took 13 acres of land from the government for the Bandra-Kurla Complex to build our cricket academy, which is the best in India,” said Pawar.
