South Africa captain Graeme Smith won the toss on Monday and chose to bat first against the West Indies in the second one-day international at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

The South Africans made one change to the team that won the opening one-dayer convincingly on Saturday, batsman Alviro Petersen coming in at the expense of left-hander JP Duminy. The West Indies' sole change saw Dale Richards replacing the out-of-form Andre Fletcher at the top of the order.
