S. Sreesanth is always in the news - be it for the right or the wrong reasons. While he won lavish praise for bowling that 'unplayable' delivery to remove Jacques Kallis and put India on the road to victory in Durban, he has left South Africa upset after his altercation with Graeme Smith.
South African players alleged the bowler made a very personal comment to their skipper, there was an element of doubt about the exchange. On Saturday, however, skipper MS Dhoni almost admitted the pacer crossed the line. "It is difficult to control Sreesanth. Hopefully, he will be on the right side this time. And if he is supposed to say something, he should say something that's not very personal," he said.
That the matter forced the two skippers to take time out during the ICC function on Friday night to have a chat shows how grave it is. "When you are representing your country, you want to give your best to help the team win. But then there are certain guidelines that need to be followed, and you have to stay on the right side of the line," said Dhoni.
Smith, who had refused to elaborate on what made him jab his bat at the bowler, was more vocal on Saturday. "I think every series you play in, you have guys who have a go at you. In my 90 Tests, I don't think I have played many Tests where there hasn't been an aggressive vibe on the field. But when you start bringing people's families into it, it gets a little bit crossing the line," he said.
