Fortis Hospital director Dr Ashutosh Banerjee said, “All three samples have turned out to be negative and no other team member of either squad is showing any symptoms.”

The doctor also said there was no need to test the whole squad and that only those showing symptoms of swine flu would need closer attention. “Everyone cannot be tested without them showing any flu-like symptoms and nobody has been put on Tamiflu medicine apart from Sreesanth,” he said.

The three members of the Indian cricket squad were tested for H1N1 influenza at the Virology Department of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh, Dr GC Bansal, Chanidgarh's swine flu nodal officer said.

The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) also cleared the air on the swine-flu scare, asserting that they are taking all necessary precautions and are in constant touch with the BCCI. PCA president IS Bindra said the PCA and the Board were monitoring the situation closely. “Whatever steps we are taking are in consultation with the Board,” he said.
