Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said it was looking for an insurance policy to cover group travel, medical and personal accident insurance during the coming year.

SLC administration manager B H Perera said the team’s current travel insurance worth some $350,000 runs out on March 13.

“We are calling for competitive bids,” Perera said.

He declined to say if SLC was seeking compensation for the injuries suffered by the national team players after Tuesday's attack.

The second Test against Pakistan at Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium was aborted after the team bus was attacked by unknown gunmen.

Sri Lanka chartered an aircraft to bring the 25-member national squad back home early on Wednesday.
