Confirming the news, the BCCI said that Binny, who can bat at number six and be a fifth bowling option, was an addition to the 15-man unit.

The 31-year-old has represented India in three Tests till now, which were all against England at a batting average of 23.60.

India had earlier suffered a shocking 63-run defeat against Sri Lanka at Galle in the first match, which ended on Saturday, despite having a 192-run lead over the visitors in the second innings. Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Dinesh Chandimal turned things around for the visitors with his unbeaten 162-run knock.
