Miffed with the humiliating series loss to Sri Lanka, Pakistan Cricket Board has asked skipper Shoaib Malik, coach Intikhab Alam and team manager Yawar Saeed to submit a report outlining the reasons within 48 hours.
PCB chairman Ejaz Butt said he was extremely disappointed with the way the hosts had surrendered themselves against the Lankans in the final match in Lahore yesterday.
"I have asked the team management, the captain and coach to submit a report by Tuesday as to what went wrong in the final match and the series.
"Obviously the board wants to know what has to be done to rectify the situation and set things right. We can't tolerate such poor performances from anyone," Butt told reporters after attending a meeting of the constitution committee in Lahore today.
Pakistan was bowled out for its lowest one-day total in the match (75) and suffered its biggest defeat in terms of runs (234).
Skipper Malik, coach Intikhab and chief selector Abdul Qadir have also been summoned by the Senate Standing Committee on sports on February 9 to Islamabad.
The Senate committee has already summoned former board officials, including former chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf and chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi on the same day to explain the charges of financial mismanagement levied against them by the present board members.
