The exit of Greg Chappell leaves the position of the Indian team's coach vacant, and several people have already indicated their desire to occupy the hot seat. However, that is not the only position among the team's support staff up for grabs.
The team had five other support staff members — biomechanics specialist Ian Frazer, physio John Gloster, trainer Gregory Allen King, video analyst S Ramakrishnan and masseur Ramesh Mane.
The contracts of Frazer and Gloster also expired with India's early exit from the World Cup. King, on the other hand, is contracted with the BCCI till December.
The BCCI working committee is expected to decide the fate of Frazer and Gloster over the next two days. Prof Ratnakar Shetty said the working committee would discuss "the matter in detail and take an appropriate decision". Frazer, believed to be Chappell's right-hand man, was integral to the Australian's 'Vision 2007'; thus it is highly unlikely that Frazer will continue.
Gloster was already with the team when Chappell joined. The Australian is generally accepted to have done a good job during his two-year association with the team.
