Unadkat banking on South Africa experience

Instead of being weighed down by the challenges awaiting him in South Africa, the 19-year-old from Porbandar is looking at aspects which might stand him in good stead.

To start with, the left-arm quick is banking on his experience of playing in the Rainbow Nation.

"I have performed well in those conditions in an under-19 tour we went to and I think that experience will be helpful this time. International cricket is all about adapting to different conditions and we will be there a few days before the series starts, which will certainly help getting used to bowling there," Unadkat told Hindustan Times.

The bowler to have a had a couple of successful tours with the India A team earlier this year was also looking forward to the Indian team's South African links.

Unadkat was looking forward to spending time with fellow left-armer Zaheer Khan.

"Whenever I got an opportunity to interact with him, I made the best use of it, although we have not talked specifically on how to bowl in South African conditions. I will surely discuss this with him before the tour begins. It can prove helpful in a tour as exhaustive as the one in South Afrcia" he said of India's pace spearhead. Know the player
