Justice Kasliwal, who was appointed as election observer, rejected RCA ad-hoc committee's stand and sustained the plea of Rajasamand District Cricket Association to allow Congress Member of Parliament Joshi to stand for election.

The ad-hoc body had argued that Joshi was elected as Rajasamand treasurer on November 7 while the cut-off date to do so was November 3 and hence he was not eligible to stand for the December 7 RCA polls.

The Rajasamand Association had pleaded that Joshi's election as its treasurer was valid. It said by making November 3 as cut-off date, the ad hoc body has intentionally tried to make Joshi ineligible for RCA polls.

Sustaining the argument of Rajsamand unit, Justice Kasliwal ordered that as per the Sports Act the cut-off date for the list of the district official has to be the date on which the notification for the election is issued.

Justice Kasliwal also incorporated 125 new members who would be allowed to vote along with 59 old members but the votes of these would be kept separate and not counted as the matter is still pending in the apex court.
