The All-Stars team already boasts of veteran Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble, explosive batsman Virender Sehwag and flamboyant Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi.

The 38-year-old Warne will skipper the side, which also comprises Lara and former Zimbabwean captain Heath Streak, in his debut for the tournament, first launched in 1992.

One more player would be added to the squad before the event kicks off at the Kowloon Cricket Club.

"...With players like Brian, Virender and Shahid in our team. I am very confident we will be able to give the other teams a real run for the sixes crown," Warne said.

"I have heard so much about the event from some of the great players that have been here over the years, so to come and play myself is very exciting," he added.

While the Bradman Group comprises India, England and New Zealand, the Sobers Group is made up of All-Stars, Australia, defending champions South Africa and West Indies.

The Cowdrey Group has Hong Kong, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
