West Indies might be livid with the treatment meted to them by the Bangladesh fans, but as far as the team is concerned they have moved on. The team arrived in Chandigarh amidst tight security.
The team's media manager, Philip Spooner, termed the incident as unfortunate but said the team is now focussing on its next match, against Ireland on March 11.
“We had a team meeting and discussed the match and the incident. Our CEO, Dr Ernest Hilaire, has already spoken to the Bangladesh Board and is also in discussion with the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the incident. I am not in a position to say anything on that,” he said.
The West Indies team bus was stoned by Bangladesh fans on its way back to the hotel after the Caribbean players had thrashed the hosts by nine wickets.
West Indies team manager, Richie Richardson, had a lengthy discussion on security arrangements with top police officials in the hotel lobby upon arrival. Chandigarh DSP, Roshan Lal, said the team officials were satisfied with the arrangements.
