"The West Indies series is very important for us. If we win it, we can take the confidence to Australia," said the southpaw.

And with Chris Gayle unlikely to feature in the Windies team because of his differences with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), Yuvraj feels India will have an added advantage. “If a player like Gayle doesn't come it will definitely give us a major advantage. He has scared all the bowlers in T20 cricket.”

Yuvraj stressed on the fact that the team has players who are capable of dealing with the chin-music that will traditionally await them once the series against Australia starts on Boxing Day. “Most of our stroke players are very good against bounce. Sachin, Laxman, Dravid and Ganguly, when playing, have done well in Australia. Youngsters should emulate them.”
