Yuvraj Singh will have to wait for his turn to get his berth in the Test team, India's newly appointed captain Anil Kumble said on Wednesday.

"Yuvraj is in fine form but he will have to wait. Even for the first Test match he will have to wait," Kumble told reporters on the eve of the first Test match against Pakistan at the Feroze Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi.

"It is unfortunate because Yuvraj is one of the players the Indian team will revolve around in the next few years time," he added.

Yuvraj has been in sublime form with the bat of late, picking up the Man-of-the-Series award in the one-dayers against Pakistan. But the left-handed middle order batsman last played a Test match in June 2006 against the West Indies at Kingston.

"Performance is what matters. There are people who are performing consistently for the last 18 years. Still they are performing. This is good," said Kumble.
