Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar to buy Lutyens’ Delhi bungalow worth Rs 82 cr: Report

Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma plans to build a new house on the Golf Links’ plot that he has bought, according to the report.

Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma is getting an address in the posh Lutyens’ Delhi. Sharma is buying a bungalow in central Delhi’s Golf Links — one of the most expensive locations in the country to buy real estate, reports The Times of India.

The property is valued at Rs 82-crore ($12.7-million) for which Sharma has paid a substantial amount after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the owners but the deal is yet to be registered, the report said.

The property spread across 6,000-sq-ft is close to Delhi’s landmark areas like India Gate, Supreme Court, Delhi high court.

The reports says Sharma plans to build a new house on the plot that is located in Golf Links’ gated residential colony, surrounded by the Delhi Golf Course to its east and the Lodi Estate to its west. The Golf Links area is spread across 3,000 acres with around 1,000 bungalows, out of which 70 are for private use.

Sharma is the youngest Indian billionaire in the Forbes list with a net worth of $1.3 billion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sharma were the only two Indians to make it to an annual list of ‘100 most influential people in the world’ this year released by the Time magazine.

Sharma presently lives in the Greater Kailash area, an upscale neighbourhood of South Delhi, with his family.

The report quoted real estate experts as saying that Sharma may have got a reasonable deal as bungalow acquisitions have slowed down in recent quarters.
