NEW DELHI: The Delhi government’s services department has notified a list of first and second link officers for 71 top officials including principal secretaries, secretaries, head of departments and other senior officers in the city bureaucracy. The notification has been issued with the approval of the lieutenant governor.

Link officers are supposed to perform all functions of the concerned officer on leave, training among others.

As per the order, which supersedes all such directions in the past, officials of the same rank have been marked as link officers. For example, only a principal secretary ranked officer will fill in for an officer of that rank. The same would hold for other officials as well that includes secretaries, MCD commissioners, deputy commissioners of the revenue department, directors in different departments and managing directors of public sector units.
