Teacher gangraped on way to school in Bareilly

BAREILLY: A 19-year-old school teacher was allegedly gangraped by three men on National Highway-24 in Bareilly on Tuesday.

The incident comes less than a week after the Bulandshahr gangrape on NH 91.

The victim’s family has lodged a complaint and the police said they were probing the case.

“The incident happened at about 7am when the victim was on her way to the school where she teaches. We have formed a team to investigate the matter,” said superintendent of police( SP ), Bareilly, Sameer Saurabh, who reached CB Ganj police station and spoke to the victim’s family.

According to the complaint, the girl was pulled inside a white Maruti van near NH-24 by three masked men. The three took her to a nearby sugarcane field where two of them allegedly raped her at gunpoint.
