Blue Frog makes festive leap to Delhi

The frog is taking a big leap. Blue Frog, the premier Mumbai nightclub with a live band and a reputation for cutting-edge music production and publishing, is now hosting a two-day festival in Delhi called Frog Fest.

Blue Frog, the premier Mumbai nightclub with a live band and a reputation for cutting-edge music production and publishing, is now hosting a two-day festival in Delhi called Frog Fest. It begins today at the Garden of Five Senses and will feature some of the best from the Indian alternative music scene.

The fest also experiments with a new concept in stage space. There will be no multiple stage system, which has been a trend in Indian music fests. Instead, the gig will move around different settings. The amphitheatre of the Garden of Five Senses (GoFS) is the starting point; the show will shift at the end of every evening to a more intimate setting in Magique, a resto-bar at GoFS.

The first day features folk rockers Indian Ocean, bluesy Shillong band Soulmate, and a cutting edge experimental fusion act by Smoke. Smoke, the two-man band of Ashutosh Pathak and Dhruv Ghanekar, takes the fusion of Indian and western classical music genres to new levels. (They are also two of the founder members of Blue Frog).
