The Delhi High Court asked the DDA the status of the long-pending demand of the Jangpura Residents Welfare Association for allocation of land plots to build a temple and a gurdwara in the area.

The RWA, led by its president Monu Chadha, has been up in arms ever since the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) allotted an alternative land plot to the Noor Masjid Committee, whose illegal mosque built after encroaching on government land was demolished by DDA last year.
"Encroachers are being rewarded with alternative land, while legitimate demands for land to build a temple and a gurdwara are being ignored by the DDA," the RWA's lawyer, RK Saini, told the court.
When justice GS Sistani asked the DDA if the RWA's plea was being considered, its counsel said that he would take instructions in this regard by September 25 — the next date of hearing. The RWA wants the plots to be handed over to the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee and Sai Bhakta Samaj in Jangpura Block B.
