CBSE Class-10 results: Sonepat girl gets second rank with 99.6% marks

Shrestha Sharma, 15, a resident of Sonepat, has grabbed All India second rank in the Class 10 exams, the results of which were announced by the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) on Tuesday.

Shrestha Sharma (15) secured 498 marks out of 500, and a perfect 100 in three subjects.

Shrestha is a student of Delhi Public School in the district. She secured 498 marks out of 500, and a perfect 100 in three subjects. She is currently in Japan on an educational tour organised by her school, her father Arvind Sharma, who owns a private business, said. “We spoke to her on phone about her results and she cannot control her happiness,” Sharma said.

Shrestha has chosen non-medical stream in Class 11 and she aspires to become a bureaucrat. “She had a normal study pattern. She never studied at a stretch for long hours. We just ensured she attends school every day,” Sharma said.

Shrestha is among seven students who jointly bagged the second rank in the Class 10 exams by securing 99.6%. The other students are Ritika Sarkar of Gurugram (another Haryana girl), Akshat Verma of Muzzafarnagar, Anshika Gupta and Anchit Jain of Noida, Theresa Soni of Kochi and Sakshi Bhangadikar of Bilaspur.

Lakshya Chawla, DAV Public School, Gurugram, with 99.4% marks shares the All India third rank with 13 other students in the country. Hence, four students from Haryana have bagged top 3 ranks.
