Delhi University has kick-started the admission process for its undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses for the coming academic session. Online registration for over 57,000 undergraduate seats starts on May 15.
The registration process for all programmes will be completely online for all categories and under all quotas.
The online registration for postgraduate programmes and postgraduate diploma in cyber security and law will begin on May 18 and MPhil and PhD programmes on May 20, a DU official said. The CBSE results for Class 12 are likely to be announced in May last week. DU officials said students can start filling the registration form with basic details and choice of courses till the results come. “Students can upload the marks and certificates as and when they get it,” a DU official said.
“The details of the registration process and subsequent procedures will be available in the bulletin of information, which will be available in a downloadable form,” DU registrar Tarun Das said.
University officials said they would upload the information bulletin on the website, www. du.ac.in. The university will hold ‘open days’ to inform students about the admission process from May 21, a week after starting the online registration.

{{/usCountry}}“The open-day session will be held every day from May 21 till May 29 except Sundays at the Conference Centre in North Campus. There will be two sessions at 10-11.30 am and 12 noon to 1.20 pm,” Das said.
From this year, the university will also conduct ‘online computer-based entrance tests’ for selected undergraduate, all postgraduate, MPhil and PhD courses in 18 cities. The move has been opposed by a section of students and teachers who say both online and offline test be conducted.
The university had in April end held a two-day pre-admission interaction programme for undergraduate aspirants to inform them about the online registration process.
This year, the applicants will be able to register themselves on a single portal for applications for both merit-based and entrance-based admissions to undergraduate courses. Till last year, the registration process for entrance-based admissions was separate.
The university has added the five-year integrated course in journalism as a new course to the portal unlike last year when registration process for this course was done separately.
DU officials said that as majority of students apply from the CBSE, the details of an applicant’s marks in class 12 will be captured by the software from the database provided by the CBSE.
The online registration form will allow applicants who are applying under the sports quota to upload their three best certificates instead of only one. “The three certificates have to be uploaded as three separate documents,” the statement said.
