The second cutoff list for admission to Delhi University colleges released on Monday saw a dip of up to 2 percentage points in science courses but cutoffs for other popular subjects like economics, B.Com, English, history and political science remained upwards of 95% after a drop of 0.25 to 0.75 percentage points.

The Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) closed admissions to its most-sought after course B.Com (hons) but slashed cutoffs for economics (hons) by 0.50 percentage points, bringing it to 97.75%. However, for students who did not study economics in Class 12, the cutoff remained an impossible 100.25% in line with the disadvantage rule.
Similarly, Indraprastha College for Women maintained 100% cutoff for computer science aspirants who did not study physics, chemistry and maths in Class 12, while for College of Vocational Studies it has gone down to 99.75%.
Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College reduced cutoffs by 0.50-0.75 percentage points across courses with B.Com (hons) available at 97.25%. Economics (hons) and English (hons) saw a dip of 0.50 percentage points, bringing the new cutoffs to 97.50% and 97.75%, respectively.
Cutoff for history (hons) was brought down from 97% 96.5%. LSR, along with Hindu and Hansraj colleges, kept the economics (hons) cutoff unchanged at 97.5%.
Several institutions like Miranda House and Gargi College that had kept cutoffs for popular courses below 95% in the first round closed admissions.

For instance, at Miranda House where the cutoff was 95% for history (hons) in the first list are closed. Similarly at Gargi College, history (hons) admission is closed. The cutoff set here was 90%.
Popular science courses that had seen a big jump in cutoffs from last year saw a dip of up to 2 percentage points in the second list but remained above 90%. Hindu College reduced the cutoff for chemistry by 1 percentage points bringing it to 96.33%. Hansraj College is now offering the course for 96%, down by 1.33 percentage points.
At Hindu College, chemistry is down by 1 percentage points and cutoff has come to 96.33%. At Hansraj, the cutoff is at 96%, down by 1.33 percentage points. It is at Miranda House whose cutoff for botany (hons) has come down by 2 percentage points to 94%.
BA programme too remained above 90% at major colleges.
For those below 90%, off-campus colleges remain an option.
