Here are some courses you can consider if you want to go in for hospitality

WelcomLegionnaire Programme is a unique programme that develops “Made in ITC” managers for its world-class hotels. It is a four year programme, for boys passing Class XII or junior college. The programme, wholly financed by ITC Ltd. - Hotels Division, includes a handsome stipend and is the only one of its kind in the world.

The programme leads to a management position in frontline operations – front office and F&B service.

The programme is divided into two parts – formative phase and management training – and is spread over four years. The two years long formative phase focuses on building up hotelier-like qualities, academics and basic hoteliering skills. Student trainees also pursue the Bachelor in tourism studies programme from IGNOU during this phase. The management training phase is spread over the last two years and focuses on hospitality management.

On successful completion of the WelcomLegionnaire Programme trainees are awarded:
. The ITC Welcomgroup Diploma in hospitality management from the Welcomgroup Management Institute
. A Bachelors Degree from IGNOU – Bachelor of tourism studies

The programme is for boys only. The candidate should have successfully completed 10+2 with minimum 60 per cent marks and without a failure in any subject.

Candidates are selected on the basis of interviews and tests.

Applications (free of cost) must be sought from the following address before March 1 of the year in which appearing/appeared for Class XII final examination: The Admission Coordinator, Welcomgroup Management Institute, ITC Green Centre, 10 Institutional Area, Sector 32, Gurgaon, (Haryana).

Other programmes at Welcomgroup Management Institute are:
Hotel Executive Training Programme (HET). It is an 18-month programme specialising in the core frontline disciplines of hotel operations. The candidate must have a diploma in hotel management or equivalent, or a Bachelors degree in hotel management or equivalent. Final year students of a diploma/Bachelors course in hotel management can apply through their institute, using the prescribed format (available with the Institute).
