The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) has remanded two students, accused of mercilessly thrashing a classmate at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Muzaffarpur, to observation home for 14 days. The school, on its part, rusticated them from the institution on Monday.
The accused, who are siblings, were students of class 11 and 12. Their brash act became public after a video showing them thrashing a classmate recently went viral on the social media, leading to massive outrage.
Earlier in the day, the police had picked up the accused and taken them to the Kazi Mohammadpur police station before producing them at the juvenile justice board.

Confirming their rustication, assistant commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Patna region, A S Yadav, said: “We have given them forced transfer certificate (TC).”
The two accused would now no longer be able to apply for admission in any of the KVs across the country.

{{/usCountry}}Though the incident took place on September 25, the school principal is accused of not acting promptly on the victim’s complaint.
The victim student, fearing threat to his life, has gone into hiding.
It was only after the video of the incident went viral on social media, including Facebook and Twitter, that the principal was forced to file a written complaint, following which the police lodged an FIR.

Union minister of state for human resources development Upendra Kushwaha also took cognizance of the matter and directed KVS to probe it and submit the report within a week.
A three-member inquiry committee set up by the KVS subsequently visited the school on October 14 and initiated the probe.
