Bharatiya Janata Party's Prabhu Chauhan won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Vijaykumar by a margin of 10,592 votes.

The top two candidates split 95.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prabhu Chauhan got a total of 75,061 votes, while Indian National Congress's Vijaykumar secured 64,469 votes.
