Indian National Congress's Eshwar Khandre won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's D K Sidram by a margin of 21,438 votes.

The top two candidates split 89.1% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Eshwar Khandre got a total of 84,673 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's D K Sidram secured 63,235 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Khandre Prakash secured 15,142 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.0%, 38.1% and 9.1% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Eshwara S/o Bhimanna Khandre outperformed Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Sidram S/o Dhulappa by 9,669 votes.
