Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Shivabasappa Channabasappa Bagannanavar secured 875 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 55.5%, 42.6% and 0.5% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Basavaraj Neelappa Shivannanavar outperformed Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Shivaraj Sajjanar by 13,359 votes.
