Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Basavaraj Dr.Kelagar grabbed the third spot with 48,973 votes. The top three parties got 35.9%, 33.5% and 27.5% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Koliwad K.B defeated independent candidate R.Shankar by 6,788 votes.
