Manipur Election: Bishnupur Assembly Constituency 2022

Bishnupur is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bishnupur district. People of Bishnupur voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

What happened last time

In 2017, 4 candidates were contesting for Bishnupur assembly constituency seat. Bishnupur was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Konthoujam Govindas won the election by defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Konthoujam Krishna Kumar Singh by a margin of 5,278 votes.

The top three candidates split 99.6% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Konthoujam Govindas got a total of 14,150 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Konthoujam Krishna Kumar Singh secured 8,872 votes. Lok Jan Shakti Party's candidate Khundrakpam Bhabeshwor Singh grabbed the third spot with 3,333 votes. The top three parties got 53.5%, 33.5% and 12.6% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Konthoujam Govindas outperformed Manipur State Congress Party's Thiyam Yaima by 6,653 votes.
