Manipur Election: Keishamthong Assembly Constituency 2022

Keishamthong is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Imphal West district. People of Keishamthong voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

Keishamthong assembly constituency had 26,494 electors in 2017, out of which 12,356 were male voters and 14,138 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 8 candidates were contesting for Keishamthong assembly constituency seat. Keishamthong was one of 4 seats won by the National People's Party. National People's Party's Langpoklakpam Jayantakumar Singh won the election by defeating Indian National Congress's Laisom Ibomcha Singh by a margin of 3,261 votes.

94.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. National People's Party's Langpoklakpam Jayantakumar Singh grabbed a total of 10,000 votes, while Indian National Congress's Laisom Ibomcha Singh got 6,739 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Rajkumar Shivachandra Singh bagged 5,003 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.7%, 29.4% and 21.8% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Nationalist Congress Party's L. Ibomcha Singh beat Indian National Congress's Langpoklakpam Jayantakumar Singh by 1,459 votes.
